HIPAA Considerations
While Skyhook Social Services Support prioritizes strong data security, our solutions are typically built for organizations that do not fall under HIPAA’s Covered Entity or Business Associate definitions. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS):

A Covered Entity includes health plans, healthcare clearinghouses, and healthcare providers who electronically transmit health information in connection with specific transactions.
A Business Associate is an entity that performs functions or activities involving PHI on behalf of a Covered Entity.
